Artists Mixer
Saturday, May 28, 2022
5:00 pm – 7:00 pm CDT
36 W. Beach Dr., Panama City, FL 32401
On Saturday, May 28, 2022, The Cultural Hub of Northwest Florida will open our gallery doors exclusively for local artists to attend its first Artist Mixer. From 5 to 7 pm, we invite artists from all disciplines: visual art, music, and theatre, to explore our new exhibit and permanent collection, and enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres, wine, and music.
During the event, artists will be asked to share their input on The Cultural Hub of Northwest Florida’s upcoming programming and membership opportunities through a series of interactive installations. We will also outline our history, goals, and vision for impacting the arts in Northwest Florida. Current artist members and representatives from our Board of Directors will be present during the event to field questions and welcome guests. The Gallery will feature artwork from the permanent collection of the Mary Ola Miller family and new work from four local artists: Tesa Burch, Carl Webb, Kim Griffin-White and Mark White.
Creating a non-profit organization to benefit artists in the local area was a dream of Maxwell Miller, a local artist and business owner. Upon his death in 2021, his daughter, Starlett Miller Massey, set-out to carry on his efforts and her family’s legacy of supporting the arts. The Cultural Hub of Northwest Florida was formed to provide artists with resources and information to assist their careers. Additionally, The Hub makes its home in the building that formerly housed The Gallery of Art, the first art gallery in Panama City which was established by Mary Ola Miller: Maxwell’s mother and Starlett’s grandmother. Mary Ola has been recognized as one of the women who shaped Panama City because of her commitment to supporting the arts and artists in our area.
It is our goal to be a front-runner in promoting diversity and inclusion in the Arts in Northwest Florida. We seek to involve local artists in the process of shaping our organization so that it may provide the most relevant support and programming for artists in the area. RSVP for artists and press is recommended at CulturalHubNWFL@gmail.com.
